On October 21st, Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance announced that FPT had won the ‘Purchase and implementation for application system of Personal Income Tax Management’ contract.

This is the first time FPT had become the general contractor of the US$ 15 million application software project. This success not only established a new record in FPT’s history of information technology (IT) but also expressed its ability to conduct huge projects to international standards, and promised that many more giant overseas contracts can be achieved in the near future. Moreover, the work will have a significant affect on society as a whole and over 40,000 tax officers in particular.

This turnkey project will carry out consultancy, implementation and installation of an IT system, management of change in communications, training, implementation and support. It will last two years (2009 and 2010), with a further year for technical support, with the participation of about 200 FPT staff and 100 officers of the General Department of Taxation (GDT).
