Barcamp Hanoi 2 will come soon :)

Hi everyone,
To tell the truth, I'm a little envious of some HCM city (Saigon) geeks' activities, especially about Barcamp Saigon 1 and their #H3 :(. What about in Hanoi? Just correct me if I'm wrong but it seem there

OpenSocial Hackathon in Hanoi

Today is one of the most active day of mine :). With the opensocial hackathon in Hanoi, I have chance to meet some interesting people.

My morning started in 9 A.M (OMG!!! But it's my normal day; I don't know why but I'd really like to work at late night. Yesterday, I stopped working at about 4 A.M. It's hard to define my work :). Just do everything with computer: blogging, building some requested websites from customers, experimenting new technology trend, improve programming skill, oh many more. Just my habit :).

OpenSocial Hackathon and BarCamp Hanoi

Good news to Hanoi developers! As we know, Google DevFest HCMC - The First Ever Google Hackathon Tour in Vietnam (November 4, 2008) did succeed, BarCamp Saigon (November 5, 2008) did succeed.

Where is my Google SearchWiki???

Where is the Google SearchWiki that is a new feature encouraging people to have search more with new experience? Just 2 days after Google's announcement it's gone. Does it mean that SearchWiki is not very helpful and Google decided to take it out?

Google says that this is a bug and is working on restoring SearchWiki now: “We’re really sorry that people can’t use SearchWiki at the moment - we’re working to fix the problem as quickly as we can. Please bear with us.”

The Open Source CEO: Dries Buytaert, Drupal

In this tenth installment of the Open Source CEO Series, I shifted gears again to talk with someone that has chosen not to carry the CEO title, despite ample opportunity to claim it. (I know a range of VCs who would love to invest in Drupal.) Dries Buytaert, the founder of Drupal, is Linus-like in his ability to build an amazing community without undue concern for commercializing his success. I think he's one of the most interesting people in open source, given what he's accomplished and what he continues to forego in terms of cash and publicity.

Security firm spots Chrome 'SaveAs' flaw

It's been only a few days since Google released its Chrome browser, and security researchers are still digging into the software in search of the first few flaws.

A company in Vietnam has turned up the latest vulnerability in Chrome, according to a story posted to Information Week's Web site. Bach Khoa Internet Security says that the Chrome 0.2.149.27 release is susceptible to a critical buffer-overflow flaw, which could allow a remote attacker to take control of a PC. BKIS says it has reported the vulnerability to Google.

Vietnam: The next offshoring hot spot?

Vietnam is tipped to become a more popular outsourcing destination than both China and India within the next five years.

The bold claim has been made by recruitment company Harvey Nash, which recently acquired Ho Chi Minh-based recruitment business SilkRoad for $1.8 million.

Harvey Nash cited the fact that Vietnam has the second-highest gross domestic product growth after China and that it's now the third-largest offshore-services destination in Southeast Asia.
